I often think about the Sharecroppers dream. The dream that the seeds we plant today will grow into trees that bear fruit for generations to come. Our Great-Great-Grandfather, Dennis Willis Wright, was one of those dreamers. Though he was not a sharecropper himself, he still taught his children the dream and legacy of owning and maintaining land within the family. My Great-Grandfather, Rufus Wright, Dennis's son, was one of those special sharecroppers who passed on the lessons and land rights to his children and our grandfather, making it possible for me and my generation to follow through on the dream. 

Land stewardship is a responsibility we embrace — not a passing trend. It has been passed down through generations of dreamers and doers. Today, Dennis Wright Agriculture & Technology Inc. is an education-based organization that teaches communities to maintain the dream of self-sufficiency and self-determination. We do this by empowering those around us to take ownership of their communities and play an active role in their transformation.
